On 6 October 2016 we inaugurate the Giovanni Greppi exhibition, with a catalog complete with critical texts by Giovanna Uzzani and Nicola Micieli.
After studying at the Bisonte in 91/92, Greppi continued his personal poetic-technical research, specializing in the use of photo-etching, a technique not yet fully cleared in the field of traditional graphics.

“The artist’s path, as well as the folder of engravings he documents, offers apparently distant choices: he pursues the emotion of light in the vastness of the landscapes, experiences the cancellation of figuration in the blurring of the contours of a field flower, for finally arrive at the objective and clear recomposition of the details of everyday life. ”

Nicola Micieli
“The reason for the shots with which even in the present, his third season, Greppi subtracts some of those images from the flow and re-elaborates them, delivering them to a graphic medium that requires a long and laborious formative process, consists in the desire to read them with other times, other perceptual duration and inner experience and a different expressive register, compared to the linearity and lability of fluid communication to which we are becoming more and more accustomed. of the sensitivity of the artist stimulated by him and of the emotion aroused in his soul, so it is important to regenerate the thread of that motion along the entire formation path and in the vibration, not only under the trace, of the image to which he finally arrives. ”
