Printmaking for Photography

The Il Bisonte Foundation, with the support of Fondazione CR Firenze and Fondazione Livorno, is offering 4 scholarships totaling €1740 for the Summer School Contemporary Languages of Printmaking – Printmaking for Photography.

The course is designed to explore the intersections between printmaking and photography, offering participants the opportunity to experiment with and combine a variety of intaglio techniques applied directly to photographic images.

Throughout the summer school, both the technical and conceptual aspects of the creative process will be addressed: from plate preparation and the transposition of photographic images to the final printing on paper using an etching press. Particular attention will be given to analyzing the various ways in which photography can be reinterpreted through printmaking—both as a narrative medium and as a material to be transformed and reworked.

Classes will take place from June 30 to July 4, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM and from 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM, in the historic studios of the Foundation, located in the former stables of Palazzo Serristori, Via del Giardino Serristori 13r, Florence.
